We are seeking a student assistant to support the editorial work involved in setting up and organizing papers for the Socio-Economic Research Centre (SECO) Working Paper series.
Work tasks include:
- Reviewing manuscripts to ensure they follow the template for publishing.
- Organizing ESBN numbers.
- Checking manuscripts for editorial errors.
- Converting Word files into PDF format.
- Checking manuscripts before submission for publishing.
- Liaison with the head of the editorial board.
- Communicating with authors.
Qualifications
If you are interested in the position as student assistant, we ask that you submit a short half-page page application and a CV as well as your exams transcripts from your university education(s).
Special qualifications:
- Academically qualified.
- Interest in editorial work.
- Speak and write English at prominent level.
- Ability to work independently under guidance.
- Dedicated.
- Good collaborative skills.
- Currently enrolled as a student.

Terms of Employment
This is a part-time position averaging 8 hours per week, reporting to the Head of Secretariat, Signe Riis. The employment is subject to the collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and HK (The Union of Commercial and Clerical Employees).
It is a prerequisite that you are an actively enrolled student at a higher educational institution or pursuing a medium-level tertiary education.
